Our Vision
Our vision is to help prevent homelessness whenever possible while improving access to trusted resources for people experiencing homelessness.
We believe addressing homelessness before it begins, as well as supporting those already experiencing it, is a shared responsibility that requires accountability, innovation, cooperation, and sustained commitment. Our goal is to help individuals and families move toward stability, opportunity, and independence by connecting them with guidance, practical resources, and meaningful support.
We envision a future where nonprofit organizations, healthcare providers, hospitals, businesses, faith communities, outreach teams, law enforcement, and local organizations work together to remove barriers, expand opportunities, and improve lives.
We recognize that homelessness is a complex issue with many contributing factors that require thoughtful coordination, respect for individual circumstances, and innovative solutions.
As I watched people being moved from sidewalks, parks, and encampments, one question stayed with me: Where do they go? Removing someone from one location may offer a temporary solution, but it does not address the underlying challenges they continue to face. That question became one of the driving forces behind A Day of Sunshine and our commitment to creating lasting solutions that restore dignity and provide meaningful support.
By making essential services easier to reach, we hope to create opportunities that help people build stability while reducing the risk of homelessness.
As A Day of Sunshine grows, we hope to work alongside dedicated partners to develop practical, lasting approaches that strengthen individuals, families, and communities.
